Sharpsville…Although a great number of residents are employed in manufacturing and commerce in neighboring counties, many of them have roots in Tipton CountiesKelly Musuem rich farmland. The Kelley Agricultural and Historical Museum on US 31 and County Road 550 North represents the areas agricultural heritage. It is home to a unique round barn, a pioneer home and early farm equipment. Across the road is the home of Foundation Seed Facility, a family owned business for several generations. Also located on US 31 just north of the Park is Kesslings Llama Farm home of the “Square Dancing Llamas. The Kesslings exotic animal farm gathers second looks from those traveling the highway.

The Sharpsville area also has several subdivisions (Prairie Acres, Willow Creek, Liberty Point), many of them occupied by families who work in nearby Kokomo and send their children to Tri-Central Community Schools, located just east of town. Children can play in Sharpsville Community Park located on South Main St.

There they can entertain themselves on the playground equipment, shoot hoops, play tennis or just sit on a shade tree. The park has a gazebo where families can gather and cookout. Many people from the area come to the neighboring Sharpsville Gymnasium to play in basketball and volleyball leagues.

Every year, the Sharpsville United Methodist Church creates a popular corn mazeA Summer Place along State Road 19 North. The maze attracts folks from all over each fall to wonder through while solving riddles. Another attraction located on State Road 19 is a recreation of a 1950’s town “Summer Place”. Summer Place consists of a Standard gas station, the ISIS movie theater, a barbershop and a diner; all full of restored antiques from the period. Many charity groups and public outing attendees visit to walk down memory lane, eat a burger and admire the collectables.
